At 2:15am on August 6th the Elderts family, and his softball families, lost a great man. It comes with great sadness to announce the passing of Coach Ken Elderts due to a sudden heart attack. Coach Ken has been a true friend who dedicated his life to helping young student athletes. He was the epitome of a true mentor who cared for and loved the young women under his tutelage. True coaches don’t come around too often, the ones that put the player (person) before themselves. Coach Ken loved to win, but he loved to teach the game of softball, and never made the game about himself. He impacted my family, and me as if we were family. He gave so much to this game whether it be in personal finances, personal time or just a quick text of some insightful wisdom.
My heart and condolences go out to his wonderful family. Kenny, you will be deeply missed by many! Thank you for all you did for everyone, my family and me.
Funeral Services for Coach Ken will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at The Movement Church, 1609 Capalina Road in San Marcos, California. Burial services are to immediately follow at the Eternal Hills Mortuary, 1999 El Camino Real, in Oceanside, California.
